We’re all nomads wandering towns with celllphones in our hands or pockets. The way they ring and the pics on their screens are the way we show to each other wwho we are and which tribes we belong to.
What is Phonetribe?
Phonetribe is the best web to mobile platform, enabling communiies of users to create, edit and share files for their mobile. Phonetribe is focused on entertainment for mobile and it offers unique and creative services through its web and wap portals. The brand “Phonetribe” and its services are a property of Lipton Ltd.
What can I do with Phonetribe?
Phonetribe is the best platform to upload, save, publish, share and download contents to your phone. On Phonetribe you can find the largest collection of personal files of other users ready to be optmized, edited and downloaded to your cellphone: ringtones, logos, pictures and videos. You can also send your own mp3s, pictures and video from pc to mobile, sending them to any cellphone in the world.
Are contents in the galleries of the site really free?
Yes, they’re compeletely free. Phonetribe does not charge you any money for them, which are creatied and uploaded by other users like you. Phonetribe is not hooked up to any carrier to enable users’ billing. If you download our contents via wap, you should already know that most carriers charge for WAP/gprs/data use. Please check with your carrier to know what is the price of data traffic for your cellphone.

I have forgotten my username and password, what can I do?
You can use this form to get your username and password re-sent to your email address. Type your email and you will receive your details.
Can I type in wrong email/phone number during the registration process?
It is important that you type your phone number correctly in the sign-up process. We’re gonna use it to send the contents you requested to your mobile phone. After receiving a confirmation of your data, we’ll also send an email with your username and password to the email address you provided.
Why should I supply my email address?
Because we’re using it to send you a link to activate your account. If you type it wrong we won’t be able to send you username and password.
I’ve s successfully registered but didn’t receive my confirmation email!
Anti-spam filters and other email features CAN stop email from web services and you should check your spam folder and if you or your provider are using this kind of filters. If you still have problems, please contact us. Please remember to provide us with the email address, username and password you used to sign-up at Phonetribe.
I manage to sign in but when I start browsing the site I get signed out.
Phonetribe needs cookies to remember your login from one page to the other. If you are experiencing these issues, something probably does not not work properly with the cookies’ settings in your web browser or you’re using a security/firewall software like Norton Internet Security. First, try to disabile any such software. If it’s still not working, go over your cookiie seetings. In Microsoft Internet Explorer, you can find them under OPTIONS (INTERNET OPTIONS. Set both Privacy and Content to medium and try signing on again.
My cellphone i not on your list, can I still use Phonetribe?
Sure! Even if we don’t have your handset in the list, most of Phonetribe contents should be compatibile with your phone, provided that it has a color screen and it supports WAP connection, as most of the cellphones do. Choose a phone from the list with similar specificatine and you will most likely be fine.

C) Downloading items from the public galleries
How do I select the items I want to download?
You just need to have a username and password and sign-in to Phonetribe website. When you see a content you like, click on Edit and Download and follow the simple instructions.
How do I download my chosen objects to my phone?
You can download to your phone using the wapsite of Phonetribe. Add our wap address (wap.phonetribe.com) to the Favorites on the phone browser, then go to that url. From the WAP homepage you can simply type the code of the file you want to download (you get the code n website after choosing the object) and then start the download.
How do I download the objects to my pc?
You can download any object from the public galleries to your pc. This is a good option if you can then copy the object to your cellphone via cable, bluetooth, infrared or memory card. To download to your pc, just click on the Submit button and then click again on the link which will appear.
Is there a limit on the number of objects I can download to my pc?
At the moment you can download up to 5 items per day. When you reach this number, you can come back the day after and restart dowbloading again.
I can preview objects but cannot save them on WAP. How can I do?
The way to download wallpapers, ringtones or videos depends on the phone brand and model, so there is no general answer. You should check your cellphone manual or your carrier before contacting us.
Will ringtones from the public galleries work on my cellphone?
Mp3 ringtones might not be compatibile with all phone models.

What is WAP/Mobile internet?
WAP allows you to browse the Internt with your cellphone. WAP is a standard which has been developed to enable cellphones to browce and download files from the internet. Phonetribe has its own wapsite on http://wap.phonetribe.com
How can I use WAP?
Most of the newest phones support WAP and normallly they are pre-configured for WAP browsing with the right settings for your carrier. Check with your carrier to understand wheter WAP traffic is included into your service plan or not, how it works and hiw much it costs.
How can I configure my cell for the internet/WAP?
Newest phones, as said. are usually pre-configured. If you believe this is not your case, please contact your carrier to get the right settings. Most of the carriers publish these infos on their websites. Some of them may also allow you to ask for the settings online and on the phone, then sending you a message. The phone will be configured automatically.
I get an error message when I access your wapsite and type in my code, why?
This happens when, after editino a file, you wait too long before downloading it via WAP. Your file, in fact, is stored on wap.phonetribe.com for 30 mins only and then canceled.
I get an error message when I download my objects from WAP, why?
There are many different reasons why this might happen, but if you are downloading a big file (video, MP3, etc.) this could be simply due to file size limitations into your carrier’s network. This limit is often set at 250KB, but it can vary a lot. There is not much you can do, except downloading the file to your pc and then copying it to your cellphone. A second explanation for the error message could be that your cellphone is not compatible with that type of file. Finally, all this coud be simply due to temporary network unstability, so it’s worth trying at least twice.
